It is quite easy to fall prey to a herding mentality with so much exposure to the news media. Just look at all the buyers who bought when they were taking advice from the media. They probably haven’t fared too well. I think right now is a great time to buy provided you have a long term horizon.

Also, properties are still selling. Buyers are just picking off the most beautiful homes at the best prices. Sellers have to win a beauty contest and a price contest. Of course, none of this matters if no one knows about how beautiful or what a great value your home is. That’s where a great agent comes into play.

We have seen many buyers come out since the beginning of the year here in Long Beach CA as well. I think is has something to do with prices beginning to approach those of 2004 here. It really always comes down to price. When it is priced right, they will buy.
