In response to: Orlando Home Sales Increase Again As Prices Decrease

It has been tough times for Florida homeowners. Declining prices have places most "upside-down".

Any sign that the decline is over is welcome news!

In response to: No Foreclosure Relief In Sight for Orlando Homeowners

"Roughly one in 10 homeowners with mortgages are either in foreclosure or more than 30 days late in payment--the highest delinquency rate on record," Schoen said. "Without more aggressive measures, another 8 million to 10 millions foreclosures are forecast over the next four years."

This statistic is at once amazing and truly sad. The Hope for Homeowners Program needs to come back, as do Downpayment Assistance Programs - via the newly sponsored H.R. 600 Bill put forth by Rep. Green from Texas.

This pair of solutions could do a lot to help keep good folks in their homes and also reduce the inventory of homes that could not be saved from foreclosure.

But as always, what we're getting still seems to be a whole lot of "hurry up and wait."

In response to: Orlando Area Real Estate: Winter Park Market Update

Chris, I left you a twitter message also but thought I would come directly to your sight and your latest entry had info regarding Winter Park homes and I just had to follow the signs. My parents are currently in Winter Park and that is the area we want to head. As I mentioned in twitter, we don't have jobs there yet but as soon as we do we will need to secure a home of our own. Would love to meet up with you and see what our options are. Neither of us have ever owned our own home so this will be the first for us.

In response to: How Does the Federal Reserve Rate Cut Benefit Orlando Home Buyers?

Hey Chris! Listen...

I just wrote a blog post listing your blog as one of several Florida-based sites folks should check up on regularly.

Thanks for all the great information you are putting out there. I'd appreciate any feedback you might have in terms of other Florida real estate-oriented blogs I might have missed!

Regards,
In response to: How Does the Federal Reserve Rate Cut Benefit Orlando Home Buyers?

Consumer confidence is huge. I'm surprised more folks aren't talking about it! I just hope we don't repeat the Reaganomics trickle down thing here. Folks at the middle income level need some support. Perhaps we'll see some on the way as we move into the new year.
